Aside from Bea Alonzo, another actor to undergo a look transformation for the upcoming comedy teleseryeI Love Betty La Fea is Vhong Navarro. Although he looks very different from Nicolas, Vhong says there are similarities between him and his character. Ilang beses na rin ako nabasted noon, kahit hanggang ngayon,” Vhong says with a laugh. However, the dancer-comedian refuses to elaborate about his current dating status and would rather talk about his excitement over I Love Betty La Fea.
Vhong reveals that he is very much comfortable to be playing the ugly, but cunning best friend of Betty. Vhong says that he also plans to incorporate his own brand of comedy into the character so he doesn’t focus on copying the original Nicolas, thereby giving more than what is expected by viewers.
Vhong feels honored and challenged to playing someone as intricate and colorful as Nicolas.
The actor also confesses that it may be possible for him to fall in love with a woman who looks like Betty. But when it comes to true love, Vhong only has one condition: “Ang gusto ko yung mamahalin ako sa kung sino ako.”
